If you’re craving a taste of Southeast Asia while exploring the vibrant atmosphere of Sydney, look no further than Six Avenue. Nestled in the bustling food court next to Martin Place station, this unpretentious eatery brings a delightful blend of authentic flavors and hearty meals, perfect for those on the go.
Six Avenue specializes in South East Asian cuisine, boasting a menu that highlights comforting favorites such as crispy chicken rice, fried rice, and fried noodles. Each dish is prepared fresh to order, ensuring that your meal is not only delicious but also satisfying. Picture digging into a plate of golden, crispy chicken, succulent and paired with aromatic fried rice, infused with hints of garlic and soy. The stir-fried vegetables add a refreshing crunch, while a simple yet flavorful soup completes the experience, often surprising diners with its depth of taste despite its humble appearance.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a warm service that is often complimented by customers. One patron, Kim Oscar, noted the friendly demeanor of the staff, stating, "The auntie at the till was pretty friendly." This personal touch adds to the overall charm of the dining experience, making it feel like a homey spot amid the city’s hustle and bustle.
Though some dishes may vary in texture and flavor—like the fried chicken that could benefit from being crunchier or the occasional overcooked noodle—most diners leave with smiles, as seen in the reviews from enthusiasts like Bill Morgan, who raves about the "consistent A++ quality." Additionally, for those with dietary preferences, Six Avenue proudly offers halal options, a detail noted and appreciated by Asim Khan.
With its combination of delicious, freshly prepared dishes and a friendly ambiance, Six Avenue serves as more than just a meal stop; it’s a delightful escape into the flavors of Southeast Asia, tailored for city dwellers looking for an affordable yet satisfying dining experience. It's a South East Asian food stall, located in the food court next to Martin Place station. So it's pretty much "grab the food as takeaways and go eat somewhere else". The auntie at the till was pretty friendly, but not the guy though. The food is good as long as you order something like fried rice, fried noodles. I tried a Crispy Chicken before (can choose chicken rice or fried rice), it was terrible. The chicken was far from crispy, the rice was so dry that I wondered if it was for human or chicken consumption. The steam vegetable was not seasoned at all. The price range is about $20. The queue during lunch hour is unbelievable. I waited almost half an hour for my salted fish fried rice which luckily wasn't disappointing.

Order this crispy chicken rice on their last day before moving to martin placene year. For 13 bucks, it is ok dish. Got the stir fry veggies , soup, fried chicken. Fried chicken is bit oily and i prefer if this is crunchier. Good luck six avenue on martin place ne year

I had the roast chicken with fried rice and soup. The flavour of the chicken was really nice. Unfortunately, there was more bone than chicken. The rice was fine, although it could have done with a bit more flavour. But it was still fine. The soup was surprisingly tasty. I usually avoid these types of soups because the flavour is invariably "salt and oil" flavour, and that's it. But this was tasty.

Very nice place to have a lunch in the city. Cheap price but tastes good. All stir fried dishes are made to order. Super nice owner, good service.

The food was great and freshly cooked. There was a bit of a line so ended up waiting almost 20 mins to get my order. Loved the condiments bar which a lot of places are cutting in this economy.. Don’t enjoy the wooden spoons one bit but that’s not the restaurant’s fault.. Also loved that’s it’s halal. Certificate posted on the wall.

Sensational restaurant tucked into inner city food court (if you're entering via Hunter St go up the escalators and it should greet you straight away). I've been going to Avenue 6 for years and the quality is consistently A++. They specialise in South East Asian cuisine, and more or less, everything on the menu is fantastic. Service is fast and friendly, with plenty of condiments such as chillies to help yourself to. Prices for very generous servings are about $10/$11. I can't recommend higher, and a special mention to the nasi goreng which is particularly off the charts!

They used to be in Hunter Connection foodcourt & I’m glad that they’ve found a new spot here! I had their noodle soup and it was ok (noodles were slightly overcooked), but I think I will get their stir fried dishes next time.
